DiNic’s Roast Pork Crowned ‘America’s Best Sandwich’

Thanks to Adam Richman, and his cross-continent quest for Americas Best Sandwich the rest of the world finally knows what weve known all along: the roast pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone served on a seeded roll at Reading Terminal Markets DiNics is this countrys greatest sandwich. That was the verdict from the shows finale last night. DiNics roast pork beat 28 other contenders, including the wild card cheesesteak from South Phillys Johns Roast Pork. Of the winner, Detroit Free Press quoted Richman, saying Oh my God. It hits every dimension a sandwich should hit; its crafted beautifully, always consistent and always tastes great. While this is surely a great honor for DiNics, Reading Terminal Market and the sandwich paradise better known as the city of Philadelphia, it also verifies and validates that roast pork, not the nasty-ass Cheez Wiz-slathered cheesesteak, is this towns signature sandwich. Sure sucks to be you Pats and Genos. [Travel Channel; DFP]
