It looks like Frenchtown, N.J.’s Famous River Hot Dog Man might be up shit’s creek if he can’t get the permits necessary to operate his floating snack bar on the Delaware River near the Pennsylvania border. The Army Corp of Engineers, which oversees the river and what's built into its banks, has slapped his Hot Dog-ness (aka Greg Crance) with a cease-and-desist order for wooden staircases, picnic tables and signs he’s erected for his river tubing and kayak business, Phillyburbs reports. They’re also questioning the legality and legitimacy of the aquatic restaurant operation he runs from Adventure Island, the small land mass he owns on the Pennsylvania side of the river.

Crance claims everything’s hunky-dory, and the cease-and-desist is a personal vendetta aimed at sinking his business for its plans to offer jet boat tours on the river.

Right now he’s looking at mounting $300,000 per day penalties, and could face jail time if he can’t comply with the Army Corp of Engineers demands. He’s currently seeking an extension from them.
