New Jersey Governor Chris Christie may be taking a beating on news of Standard & Poor’s downgrading the state’s financial outlook, but the Garden State’s craft beer enthusiasts are surely hoisting a couple of rounds in his honor tonight. According to PolitickerNJ, earlier today Christie signed into law legislation that will modernize state laws governing brewpubs and craft breweries. The bill, sponsored by Democratic State Senator Donald Norcross, who counts Flying Fish, and Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant among his constituents, was deigned to not only make it less of a hassle to enjoy cool brews in Jersey, but also to spur growth in the craft beer segment, and ultimately create more jobs.
