Plenty Eyes Rittenhouse For a Second Location; Corner Foodery Opening Next Month
Anthony Mascieri, who took over East Passyunk Ave. prepared-foods cafe, Plenty, from opening team Jesse Spalletta and Adam Baas, is about to take the concept to a new level. Well, maybe more like a new neighborhood. Passyunk Post reports that Mascieri has his sights set on bringing a version of Plenty somewhere in the vicinity of Rittenhouse Square sometime in “very early” 2013. He’s playing this hand extremely close to the vest, and won’t divulge the location — not even a corner or intersection — but insists he’s closed on a property, and that work has already started.
Somewhat related, there’s also some details emerging about the supposed partnership between Tony Rim and the team behind Raw and the Corner, and owners of both Fooderys. Blogger bon vivant HughE Dillon snuck a mention of a forthcoming project at 1710 Sansom Street, which is now going by the name Corner Foodery, into his post-Feastival wrap-up for Phillymag. According to him, the fancy bottle shop will have a selection of beers that runs more than 800 deep, and will also feature sandwiches and cured meats from Corner chef John Taus. It’s expected to open sometime next month.
