At least part of the veil of mystery shrouding the opening of Hiro Ramen House at 11th and Chestnut streets was lifted last night when the latest entrant into the citys rising ramen ranks made its debut. Menu? Not yet. For the time being, the new noodle house will be serving its house special Hiro Ramen. Right now thats chicken, soy sauce, and dried fish broth topped with pork belly, egg scallion, and bamboo. But that will change every couple of weeks. Other offerings available until an official menu drops theres no word yet on when include Shoyu Mazemen, hand-kneaded noodles in a soy sauce-based broth with pork belly, egg, scallion and yuzu kosho; and vegetable ramen, kombu broth with cabbage, sweet corn, nori, and extra virgin olive oil. Not too shabby for an introductory spread.
