Dandelion Chocolate (740 Valencia), which we thought was set to open last month, is finally scheduled to begin retail sales next week, on November 14. The new factory and shop from former tech entrepreneurs Todd Masonis and Cameron Ring, next door to Abbot’s Cellar, will be selling chocolate bars and just a few other items for the time being, as the Scoop reports, with the onsite café set to open sometime later, probably by year’s end. They’ll be operating on a limited schedule, therefore, for a few weeks, with expanded hours to come when the café comes online. Also, they’ve hired former Elisabeth Daniel and Fifth Floor pastry chef Phil Ogiela to be in charge of some of the sweet treats to be sold at the café. We’ll bring you some pictures next week. Dandelion Chocolate - 740 Valencia between 18th and 19th - 415-349-0942 - Initial hours: Wednesday to Friday, noon to 4 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
