Tank 18

Back in June we broke the news about Tank 18, a new urban winery and wine bar coming to 1345 Howard Street (near 10th). The place is now complete and ready for a public debut any week now (pending final permits there have only been a couple of private events), and as owner Patrick MacCartee told Grub Street, there’s more to come in the way of food, as well. For now, take a look at the handsome, finished space, in a former warehouse that backs up to Dore Alley — the address of the side door is 18 Dore, thus, Tank 18. There will be onsite fermentation and winemaking as well as tasting, and for now Tank 18 will be pouring four signature vintages: a Russian River Chardonnay, a California Pinot Noir, a Napa Valley Meritage blend, and an El Dorado Tempranillo.

Also available will be MacCartee’s take on sangria, dubbed Mangria.

They are currently booking holiday events for the space, starting December 1, and you should email info@tank18.com about that. Stay tuned for an official opening announcement soon.

Update: Tank 18 is opening January 26, and regular hours will be Thursday to Sunday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
