The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has levied $118,000 in fines against the Bronx-based Zaro Bakery — which supplies bread and bagels for Zaro’s Bread Basket locations throughout the city — over numerous safety violations. In April, part of the factory’s ceiling collapsed on bakers, the Daily News reports, and more recently, inspectors found excess flour, which is actually highly combustible, “built up on pipes and walls” throughout the bakery.
