Suddenly, Tam O’Shanter is facing competition from a strapping new upstart named The Morrison, officially opening for dinner this evening on Los Feliz Boulevard. As reported his summer, the Scottish gastropub comes from Charles Lew, the owner of Stout who was partly raised in The Highlands. And what’s on The Morrison’s menu?

Stout’s Alexandros Kagianaris and head chef Steven Brown are behind a menu of contemporary Scottish eats, featuring puff pastry flatbreads with fennel and chevre, scotch egg with venison sausage, salmon offered with treacle blini in a trio of pate, smoked, and cured with Scotch, cod and chips, corned beef, savory meat pies, and a ham-laced “rarebit” sandwich.

The full bar’s focus is on beer, with forty ales and lagers on tap, along with cocktails heavy on the bourbon. See the full menu online and catch the restaurant’s debut of dinner tonight at 6:00 P.M.

The Morrison, 3179 Los Feliz Blvd. Atwater Village; 323-467-7227.
