Steve Wildy Gets Promoted to General Manager of Alla Spina; Interstate Draft House Hires a New Chef

Turns out that big news that the folks at Alla Spina teased this morning on Twitter isnt so big after all. But its still pretty cool. Steve Wildy, who serves as Beverage Director for the Vetri family of restaurants is taking over the General Manager duties at the gastro-funhouse. With his new role, he will continue making the beer, wine and booze decisions for the growing restaurant group, while doubling as the head honcho up there on North Broad Street. In a cheeky video (its posted below) Wildy says that he will announce beer specials, classes and other fun drinking activities at Alla Spina via his new Weekly Wildy YouTube clips. But thats not all thats happening in personnel news.

Last week, Nick Macri, who we hear once caused Marc Vetri to suffer third degree burns on his hand during staff training in the run up to Osterias opening years ago, has been promoted to executive chef at Southwark. Hes been holding that kitchen down since 2010. Now that hes been named the restaurants grand poobah, hes tweaking the menus, and extending hours of service. On Wednesday, January 16, hes serving a special Producers Dinner that throws the spotlight on Fishtown small-batch roasters, Re-Animaor Coffee. Check out the menu here.

And finally, Interstate Draft House has a new chef. Hes Dan Bellotti, and his last hitch was at Farmers Cabinet, which oddly enough is where former IDH chef Jennifer Zavala landed after exiting the Fishtown watering hole.
