It’s truly the end of an era. At least it will be in April when South Street’s (technically Fourth and Kater streets) The Latest Dish and it’s upstairs dance club Fluid call it quits. After 17 years, owner Tony “Antonio the Dragon” Schiro is pulling the plug. The last night, according to the Insider, will be April 6. Shiro’s decision to bring the long-standing restaurant and club’s run to a close is based on the lease being up, and the overall sluggish slump that the neighborhood has been struggling with in recent years. In its prime, Fluid played host to everyone from King Britt and Josh Wink to Questlove and Diplo. According to the Daily News, Questo will join Tastytreats DJs Mike Nyce and Yameen Allworld for one last hurrah on closing night. [Insider; Daily News]
