The last time StarChefs blew through Philly in 2004, their pick for "Rising Star Chef," Jose Garces, was the bright, young talent in the employ of Stephen Starr, and making a name for himself as the chef at Alma de Cuba and newly opened El Vez. When the industry publication returned last fall, they found the culinary landscape has changed tremendously. And for tonight's gala at the Kimmel Center, where the next class of Rising Stars will be inducted, Garces’ lieutenant Adam DeLosso serves as host chef. And it’s still not too late to score a ticket to the party. VIP tickets get you into the official awards ceremony, where the likes of Brauhaus Schmitz’s Jeremy Nolen, Rittenhouse Tavern’s Nicholas Elmi, Fork’s Eli Kulp, and Vernick’s Greg Vernick will be honored. General admission tickets give you access to a walk-around tasting featuring dishes and matching drinks from 18 local restaurants.
