Out-of-Towner Crowned Wing Bowl Champ; El Wingador Indicted on Drug Charges

James “The Bear” McDonald was crowned champion of Wing Bowl XXI this morning. The competitive eater from Connecticut chowed down a whopping 287 Buffalo wings in a half-hour to cinch the win. Philly.com is calling it a “shcoker,” because McDonald is an out-of-towner. Runner up was Jonathan “Super” Squib of South Jersey, who scrafed down 282 wings. Dave “U.S. Male” Goldstein, who scoffed up 247 wings, was named winner of the local portion of the annual pre-Super Bowl pig-out. He was awarded a new Nissan Pathfinder. Meanwhile, former five-time Wing Bowl champ, and arguably the hometown favorite, El Wingador (nee Bill Simmons) was formerly indicted yesterday on drug charges stemming from a huge coke bust last year in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. [Philly.com; Earlier]
