The house that Hova built, the 40/40 Club in Atlantic City, is no more. But here’s a twist: Jay-Z and partners passed on renewing the club’s lease before Superstorm Sandy dampened the gambling resort’s economic outlook, which speaks volumes about how dire the situation there already was before the hurricane hit. According to the Press of Atlantic City, when the storm struck, it flooded 40/40 and tore a hole in its roof. But at that point, Jay and his partners had already shut it down and moved on.
