Cedar Point Bar & Kitchen, the veggie-friendly, retro-southern-comforter we told you was coming together at the six-spoked intersection in Fishtown where East Norris Street overlaps with Susquehanna Avenue, and Cedar Street, makes its debut tonight at 5 p.m. Owners Shannon Dougherty and Liz Petersen, who used to run a Full Plate Cafe on Liberties Walk in NoLibs, have spent the past few weeks tweaking their menus, and putting the final touches on the space. And if we’re to believe the chatter coming off of some recent test runs there, which has approved and applauded everything from the kale martinis and burgers to the roasted onions stuffed with barbecued, pulled portabella mushrooms, the place is destined to be crowd-pleaser for those who eat meat, and those who don’t. At first it will be open only for dinner, but in the weeks ahead, lunch and weekend brunch will be served.
