Back in January we told you that Clark Gilbert was shutting down his Gemelli in Manayunk, and going back to the drawing board to transform it into a French-inspired bistro. Much of the work was completed in January and the restaurant relaunched as Bisou, which of course is French for friendly kisses. The retooled space features a bar on the first floor, a revamped second floor dining room with giant windows overlooking Main Street, and cozy living room appointed with big, black leather sofas and a fireplace. Yesterday, Bisou’s piece de resistance arrived in the form of large kisses that have been affixed to the walls. In weeks to come expect to see outdoor seating added.
