The lovable, but always enigmatic Lee over at Hop Sing Laundromat sends word this afternoon that he has a couple of big changes in the works for his Chinatown cocktail bar. Beginning April 1, he’s opening the bar on Mondays for the first time since debuting it last year. In addition to the extra day of of boozy service, he’s also adding another first: “Washy Washy Hours,” which if you can’t figure out on your own is Hop Sing-ease for happy hour. He’s rolling back the prices on the drinks (but not skimping on the high-end hooch they’re made with) between 5 and 9 p.m. And with the changes to the regular program schedule, he’s also going to roll out a bunch of new drinks. The new eight page cocktail list will include some tiki-inspired creations like the Phila Colada, a riff on the sweet rum-based classic that swaps out the canned cream of coconut for all fresh, squeezed to order, and natural ingredients.
