New York-based Joe Coffee, one of the many chains headed our way in the months ahead, will open its first ever location outside of the five boroughs here in Philly the first week of April. According to a rep for the roaster, the cafe, which will overlook Rittenhouse Sqaure from 1845 Walnut Street, will have seats for 27 indoors, 12 outside, and another 20 in the lobby. Joe’s stock-in-trade will be house-brand beans, roasted in New York, and Intelligentsia Black Cat beans for espresso, brewed on La Marzocco Strada. In addition to coffee, tea, and baked goods from locals Brûlée Bakery and Brooklyn’s Ovenly. A second Joe location is in the works for University City, joining Zama, Shake Shack and others at Chestnut Square near Drexel’s campus.
