Common Market, a nonprofit based in the city’s Feltonville section that’s dedicated to distributing local, sustainably grown food to schools, hospitals and other workspaces, is launching Philly Good Food Lab, a co-working space for budding food-focused enterprises and entrepreneurs. PlanPhilly reports that the organization ultimately wants to find five to seven tenants to rent spaces within its sprawling 70,000 square foot facility, and that they’ve already found their first in Mycopolitan Company, a startup mushroom growing operation. Going forward, they hope to draw more businesses, like coffee roasters, nano-breweries, cheesemakers, and the like to rent other spaces in the facility that range in sizes from 1,000 and 10,000 square feet.
