We’ve heard restaurants blame broken pipes and flooding for their abrupt closings before, but for Johnny Brenda’s, which shutdown early Sunday morning, it appears to be the truth. Action News reports that a broken water main on Frankford Avenue sent an unholy surge of runoff into the Fishtown bar, restaurant and live music venue, flooding its basement and forcing management to evacuate the building around 1 a.m. JB’s staff put the word out yesterday through its social media that last night’s Surgeon album release party was moving over to Kung Fu Necktie, and that the flooding will mostly likely keep them shut down until at least Wednesday. Here’s hoping they get things bailed out, and toweled off in a timely manner. [Action News]
